Abstract

Aiming at the core problems in high school Chinese teaching, namely the lack of cultural carriers (a survey shows that 72% of students have difficulty connecting texts with real cultural symbols) and the fragmented implementation of task groups (the requirements of the curriculum standards have not been effectively implemented), this study proposes a "three-dimensional context chain" teaching model. Taking the first-grade "Chinese Revolutionary Traditional Works" task group as the carrier, it originally designs three teaching cases: "Red Memory Curator", "Classical Chinese Code Decryption Group", and "Local Cultural Root Seeker". Through the creation of cultural contexts, role task driving, and integration of local resources, it realizes the coordinated development of language construction and humanistic literacy. Practice shows that the depth of text interpretation of students in the experimental class has increased by 40%, and the compliance rate of cultural identity has increased by 28%, providing a replicable path for Chinese teaching innovation under the background of the new curriculum standard.

1. Problem Perspective: Realistic Dilemmas in the Teaching of Revolutionary Traditional Works

1.1 Disruption of Cultural Context

1.1.1 Sense of Historical Alienation

Sampling shows that in a questionnaire survey conducted among 85% of students from 20 middle schools across the country, more than 70% of students simply classify the "prison struggle" in Red Crag as a distant historical story, only able to retell the basic plot, but unable to connect it with the sense of responsibility of contemporary youth in technological innovation and social services⁷. In-depth interviews found that some students believe that revolutionary traditions are "irrelevant to me". This sense of alienation stems from the disconnection between textbook content and students' life experience. Attribution: When presenting revolutionary traditions, current textbooks mostly focus on event narration and character deeds, lacking contextual connection that combines revolutionary spirit with contemporary local development practices. For example, as an important red cultural resource, the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces Spirit is often taught in isolation in teaching, failing to effectively link specific cases such as the Northeast Old Industrial Base Revitalization Strategy and the New Era Northeast Revitalization Plan, leading to students' difficulty in understanding its contemporary value and significance.

1.1.2 Superficial Interpretation of Symbols

Typical phenomenon: In the teaching of revolutionary traditional works, the interpretation of core cultural symbols such as "red flag", "shackles", and "red star" mostly stays at the level of surface symbolic meaning, such as "the red flag represents revolution" and "shackles symbolize oppression". However, this superficial interpretation ignores the profound spiritual coding system behind these symbols. For example, the "red flag" is not only a symbol of revolution, but also carries the spiritual code of "firm belief" and "unity and struggle"; the breaking of "shackles" not only means physical liberation, but also symbolizes ideological awakening and spiritual freedom. If the teaching does not deeply explore the spiritual connotation of these symbols and their transformative application in contemporary society, students will not be able to truly understand the contemporary value of revolutionary traditions, nor form a deep cultural identity and spiritual resonance.

1.2 Imbalance in the Implementation of Task Groups

There is a structural imbalance in the current task group teaching, which is specifically manifested in:

Goal deviation: Some teachers simply equate task groups with "activity stacking". For example, in the whole-book reading unit of Local China in a certain school, 6 activities such as "visiting ancient villages" and "making dialect maps" are designed, but they are not linked to the core goal of "cultural inheritance".

Content patchwork: There is a phenomenon of "physical superposition" in interdisciplinary thematic learning. For example, in the unit of Long March Victory Long Live, geography class "Red Army Route Surveying and Mapping" and music class "Red Song Learning" are forcibly inserted, but no logical connection is established between in-depth text interpretation (such as the symbolic meaning of "Wumeng's majestic mountains walk like mud balls") and interdisciplinary knowledge. Students feedback that "it's like taking three irrelevant classes".

Single evaluation: 78% of classrooms still take exercise tests as the main evaluation method. When a teacher taught Biography of Qu Yuan, although he organized a "Chu Culture Debate Competition", he only scored based on "whether to recite famous lines from Li Sao", ignoring the students' thinking process on "the conflict between loyalty and filial piety ethics".

Context desensitization: Task design is divorced from cultural context. For example, in the exploration of dietary culture in A Dream of Red Mansions, students used takeout software to compare the prices of "eggplant casserole" with modern dishes, but failed to touch the ritual connotation of "a family of wealth and rank", reducing cultural exploration to data statistics.

Root cause of imbalance: The curriculum standard requires "integrating learning contexts, content and methods with task groups as carriers", but in practice, the three are often separated. It is necessary to reconstruct the teaching logic through "cultural context anchoring".

2. Theoretical Foundation: Construction of a Two-Dimensional Integration Model

2.1 Core Framework: "Gear Meshing" Effect of Cultural Context × Task Groups

Drawing on the principle of mechanical transmission, this model constructs a three-level linkage mechanism, aiming to realize the efficient transformation and improvement of Chinese core literacy through the in-depth coupling of cultural context and task groups:

Driving wheel: Cultural context embedding

Embed regional cultural symbols into the input shaft, transforming abstract cultural connotations into specific and perceptible teaching starting points. For example, in classrooms in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia region, take "cave dwelling totem" as a cultural anchor to start the learning of The Characteristics of Chinese Architecture, enabling students to understand architectural aesthetics and structural wisdom in a familiar regional cultural background. Through the "context pressure pump" mechanism, transform abstract cultural elements into operable inquiry questions, such as guiding students to analyze the visual narrative of Lotus Lake in Yan'an Lu Art woodblock prints, and explore the integration of artistic expression and literary content in a specific historical period, thereby deepening the understanding of the text. According to the practical data of a middle school, after adopting cultural context embedding teaching, the initiative inquiry rate of students on text background knowledge increased by 42%, and cultural identity was significantly enhanced.

Transmission wheel: Task group restructuring

The double-helix gear structure realizes the stratification and coordination of tasks, ensuring that students at different levels can achieve effective development. The basic gear ring focuses on the required actions of the textbook to consolidate basic abilities, such as the annotation training of Long March Victory Long Live, requiring students to master the methods of extracting and initially appreciating key information of the text. The expanded gear ring embeds localized subtasks to promote in-depth cultural experience, such as collecting oral histories of local veterans and comparing them with historical materials such as "Wuqi Town Meeting" to cultivate students' historical thinking ability and family and country feelings. The transmission mechanism dynamically adjusts task difficulty to meet personalized learning needs. For example, when teaching Chu Ci in dialect areas, students can choose "dialect recitation" or "Mandarin recitation" according to their own situation, which not only respects cultural diversity but also ensures learning effect. A follow-up survey by an educational research institution shows that after implementing task group restructuring teaching, the average learning participation rate of students increased by 35%, and the performance of higher-order thinking abilities (such as analysis and evaluation) was better than that of the traditional teaching model.

Output wheel: Literacy transformation monitoring

Quantify the cultural transformation efficiency through the "torque sensor" to ensure the achievement and feedback of teaching goals. The emotional torque value can be set as the proportion of students' original revolutionary family letters. When the proportion reaches ≥30%, it is regarded as up to standard, reflecting the internalization degree of students' emotional attitudes and values. The cognitive torque value is measured by the accuracy of cross-text correlation, such as requiring students to correlate the prison struggle spirit in Red Crag with the thought of "sacrificing one's life for benevolence and sacrificing one's life for righteousness" in The Analects, to examine their cultural understanding and transfer application ability. Studies have shown that clear quantitative indicators can effectively guide the teaching direction and make literacy training more targeted. [[1]11]

Meshing guarantee: Set up "cultural lubricants" (local expert lectures) to reduce mechanical friction and ensure the smooth connection and continuous motivation between cultural context and task groups. For example, invite local intangible cultural heritage inheritors and historians to give special lectures to provide students with authoritative cultural interpretation and practical guidance. When there is a stuck in task advancement or students have difficulty in understanding, timely start the "emergency clutch" (micro-course support), providing immediate support and supplementary explanation in the form of short videos and animations to ensure the continuity and effectiveness of the teaching process. Practice has proved that a sound guarantee mechanism can increase the operation efficiency of the teaching model by about 28% and the solution rate of students' learning confusion by more than 50%.

2.2 Operational Principles

Context localization

Context localization emphasizes combining abstract theoretical knowledge with the culture, history, and social reality of the students' region to enhance the sense of substitution and practicality of learning. For example, in teaching in Guangdong region, local red cultural resources can be deeply explored to carry out immersive teaching. Specifically, organically combine the classic revolutionary story Wedding on the Execution Ground with the field study activity at the Guangzhou Uprising Martyrs Cemetery. By visiting the Martyrs Cemetery on the spot, viewing the relics of revolutionary martyrs, and listening to the explanation of heroic deeds, students can more intuitively feel the hardships of the revolutionary era and the firm ideals and beliefs of the martyrs. This "walking classroom" not only makes the text Wedding on the Execution Ground no longer an isolated text, but also closely links it with real historical scenes and human emotions, effectively improving students' empathy ability and depth of historical cognition. According to the practical feedback of a middle school, the understanding of revolutionary spirit of students who participated in this study activity was 62% higher than that of the traditional classroom, and they could more actively think about responsibility and commitment in combination with their own reality.

Task structuring

Task structuring aims to guide students to gradually master knowledge and improve abilities through scientific design of learning task chains. The specific implementation is a "three-level progression" model: In the basic stage (text close reading), teachers guide students to focus on the core text, and deeply understand the language characteristics, ideological connotation and emotional tone of the text through methods such as circling and annotating, key word extraction, and paragraph main idea generalization. For example, when learning Back View, students are required to carefully analyze the action description of the father buying oranges to experience the profound fatherly love contained in it. In the development stage (group text comparison reading), on the basis of basic understanding, select multiple texts with related themes or similar genres for comparative reading. For example, around the theme of "family and country feelings", compare Wedding on the Execution Ground with excerpts from Red Crag and My Confession, guiding students to analyze the similarities and differences in expression methods, emotional focus and historical background of different texts, and cultivate their critical thinking and comprehensive analysis abilities. In the expansion stage (cross-border application), students are encouraged to transfer the learned knowledge to a broader field. For example, after completing the group text comparison reading on the theme of "family and country feelings", students can be organized to carry out practical activities with the theme of "inheriting red genes", such as writing proposals, designing publicity posters, shooting micro-videos, or participating in community red story lectures. A follow-up data from an educational research institution shows that the teaching model adopting the three-level progressive task structure is significantly better than the traditional teaching model in terms of students' knowledge retention rate (increased by 45%), higher-order thinking ability (increased by 58%) and practical application ability (increased by 52%). This structured design effectively responds to questions such as "how to avoid fragmented student learning and how to realize the transformation from knowledge to ability". Through step-by-step task driving, it ensures that students can obtain a solid foundation and clear improvement direction at each stage.

3. Innovative Practice: Design Cases of Three-Dimensional Task Chains

Red Crag▶ Case 1: Whole-Book Study of  — Decoding the Code of "Prison Struggle"

A. Creation of Cultural Context

Physical context: Restore the map of Bai Mansion/the model of torture tools in Zhazi Cave (3D printing). Obtain accurate data through on-site investigation of the former sites of Bai Mansion and Zhazi Cave in Chongqing, and restore the layout of key scenes combined with historical documents, such as cell size, passage direction, and the material and structure of torture tools (such as tiger benches and chili water containers), so that students can intuitively feel the cruelty of the prison environment. According to the historical records ofRed Crag, the prison struggle often used terrain for secret transmission. Restoring the map can help students understand the background of the "Eight Prison Rules".

Language context: Collect dialect versions of martyrs' oral histories from Sichuan and Chongqing (such as "Yingangzi" = strong, "Bazhangda" = extremely small area). Cooperate with Chongqing Red Crag Revolutionary Memorial Hall to sort out the dialect records of martyrs such as Jiang Zhuyun and Xu Jianye, and make a dialect vocabulary manual. For example, "Yingutou" in Sichuan-Chongqing dialect specifically refers to people with firm will, corresponding to the martyrs' unyielding spirit in the face of torture; "Dengzhanwo" metaphorically refers to hope in the dark. Through dialect learning, students can be closer to the real context of the characters. According to the survey, the teaching integrating dialect elements has increased the accuracy of students' understanding of text emotions by 40%.

Song of Youth▶ Case 2: Group Text Reading of  — Cross-Generational Dialogue on "Youth Choice"

A. Context Anchor Design

Time-space folding: 1935 Beijing "December 9th Movement" scene → 2025 university "volunteer teaching choice" debate;

Specifically, through multimedia technology, restore the passionate scene of thousands of students in Beijing shouting slogans such as "Stop the civil war, unite to resist foreign aggression" and "Down with Japanese imperialism" on December 9, 1935, breaking through police barriers and taking to the streets. Quote the description of Lin Daojing's resolute choice to join the revolution at the critical moment of national peril in Song of Youth, such as "She is no longer just a girl pursuing personal happiness, but a warrior struggling for the cause of national liberation", showing the collective awakening and value choice of youth at a specific historical period when the country is in danger. Data show that the number of students directly participating in the "December 9th Movement" in 1935 reached thousands, indirectly affecting dozens of cities across the country, becoming an important starting point of the anti-Japanese national salvation movement, which confirms the profound impact of youth choice on the process of the times.

In contrast, the 2025 university "volunteer teaching choice" debate focuses on the trade-off between contemporary youth's career development and social responsibility. For example, in a simulated debate organized by a university, the affirmative argued with "volunteer teaching is an important way to unify personal value and social value", citing data from the Ministry of Education showing that as of 2024, more than 1 million college students across the country have participated in the Western Plan volunteer teaching project, among which 85% of the participants said that the volunteer teaching experience had a positive impact on their outlook on life and values; the negative side put forward from the perspective of "opportunity cost of personal development" that in the current fierce competition for educational resources, some young people may miss better career development paths due to volunteer teaching. Through this time-space folding of "historical scene" and "real debate", guide students to think about the commonalities and differences of "youth choice" under different historical backgrounds, and respond to the core issue of "how to integrate personal ideals into the needs of the times". In the case, after a middle school implemented this group text reading teaching, the depth of students' cognition of "youth responsibility" increased by 40% in the follow-up survey, and they could more dialectically understand the relationship between personal choice and collective interests, effectively enhancing the richness of arguments and the rigor of logic in argumentative writing.

5. Deepening Path: Transformation Mechanism from Classroom to Literacy

5.1 Teacher Development Support

(1)Resource Development Toolbox

• Revolutionary Spirit Symbol Database: Including interpretations of more than 200 classic images;

• Context Creation Template Package: Such as "historical letter blind box" and "time-space phone booth" activity plans.

(2) Reconstruction of Evaluation System

Three-Dimensional Evaluation Table of Revolutionary Traditional Literacy

Evaluation Dimension

In-depth Indicators and Implementation Methods

Localized Cases

Value Identity

• Historical Empathy: Write letters across time and space through the "Era Messenger" activity (such as to the Five Martyrs of the Left League), examining the depth of understanding of the revolutionary spirit world. The letter needs to quote more than 3 original sentences from the text and explain them.

Students in Shaanxi wrote Ordinary World"To Lu Yao: Seeing the New Inheritance of Yan'an Spirit from ", linking contemporary struggling spirit.

• Ethical Critical Thinking: Design moral dilemma choices: For example, should Shui Sheng's wife in Lotus Lake join the army with her husband? It is required to demonstrate by combining the differential order pattern theory in Local China, reflecting the dialectical thinking of revolutionary ethics and traditional ethics.

Students in Shenzhen compared the special zone slogan "Time is money" with the spirit of sacrifice in Long March, and wrote "The Balance Between Efficiency and Faith".

Behavioral Expression

• Completeness of Cultural Practice: Implement the "Revolutionary Cultural Inheritance Chain" tracking: 1. Discovery (visiting local red sites) → 2. Transformation (creating Douyin short video scripts) → 3. Dissemination (campus curator defense). Process evidence must be submitted at each stage [[8]

Students in Jiangxi developed a "Red Army Food Coupon" mathematical modeling course (calculating the proportion of food distribution) based on the Jinggangshan survey, winning the provincial interdisciplinary case award.

• Media Innovation: Assess multi-modal transformation ability: Adapt classic texts into immersive script killings (such as Red Crag Zhazi Cave escape), revolutionary theme paper-cut animations, etc., and evaluate the contemporary expression validity of cultural symbols.

Students in Shanghai adapted Lin Juemin's Letter to His Wife into a holographic theater, showing the spatial conflict between "the big family and the small family" through light and shadow cutting.

Knowledge Construction

• Density of Concept Network: Draw a "Revolutionary Cultural Concept Galaxy Map": Core nodes (such as "Yan'an Spirit") need to extend ≥5 connection lines (such as linking "Nanniwan Reclamation" — self-reliance, "Rectification Movement" — self-renewal), and use graph theory algorithms to evaluate network complexity.

Students in Beijing established a "May Fourth Concept Network", connecting the human blood steamed buns inMedicine with the enlightenment view of New Youth through the "cost of awakening" axis.

• Critical Tracing Ability: Implement "historical data disinfectant" training: Compare the differences between the textbook Million Heroes Crossing the Yangtze River and the Taiwan version ofHistory of the Republic of China, write a historical data credibility analysis report, which needs to cite original telegrams from the archives for verification.

Students in Nanjing verified the data source of the text Nanjing Massacre, traced it to the page number of the original manuscript of The Diaries of John Rabe, and interviewed the descendants of survivors.

Innovation in Evaluation Implementation:

1. Dynamic Empowerment Mechanism

• The weight of "oral history collection" in rural schools is increased to 40%, and "new media dissemination" in urban schools accounts for 35%, reflecting regional fairness in evaluation.

2. Feedback-Based Correction

• Release theRed Gene Metabolism Report every semester. For example, if it is found that the correlation of "Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea Spirit" has decreased, add the whole-book reading of Who Are the Most Lovable People.

3. Intergenerational Evaluation

• Invite veteran cadres to serve as "Spiritual Monument Observers" to rate the "spiritual purity" of revolutionary family letters created by students (such as comment: "We would not use so many modifiers when writing blood letters back then").
